Workshops and Clinics
I love leading workshops and clinics for choirs of all sizes, ages, and abilities. Having someone new come to work with your group can be invigorating, and is a great way to learn new techniques and strategies, or reinforce what you have been working on in rehearsals.
Workshops are interactive and fun! I work collaboratively with you and your singers to play with sound and ideas, to think outside the box, and discover new ways of approaching music and choral singing.
My workshops can cover these topics, but are also tailored for your specific group, situation, and goals:
Vocal technique, alignment, breathing
Vowels and diction
Discovering or refining a unified ensemble sound
Community building
Improvisation, and creating a safe environment for exploring new sounds
Polishing pieces for performance, or preparing for Festival
Bringing repertoire to life (i.e. finding the story in your repertoire)
Incorporating new conducting gestures
Workshops can be any length, from an hour or two, to full- or multi-day sessions. I’ve also experienced the benefits of returning to work with a choir every few months to hear the progress, and help you get to the next step.
Please get in touch to chat about what your goals are, and how I can help your choir!
